Jack Layton’s Letter to Canadians: Socialist Ramblings From Beyond The Grave

Jack Layton always reminded me of Vladimir Lenin. Bald, facial hair and socialist. Let's hope Jack's letter doesn't warn of a Stalin figure in the NDP that will rise up, purge its members and go on a killing spree.

Dear Friends,
Tens of thousands of Canadians have written to me in recent weeks to wish me well. I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughtful, inspiring and often beautiful notes, cards and gifts. Your spirit and love have lit up my home, my spirit, and my determination.

It sucks when people die. But the kind of mob mentality that followed Jack Layton's death was ridiculous. We're talking about a parasitic politician that spent his entire career as a bureaucrat. Canada's obsession with this guy is reminiscent of the idol worship Tommy Douglas receives. Remember Tommy Douglas? The eugenicist that was voted the Greatest Canadian?

But I digress,

To the members of my party: we’ve done remarkable things together in the past eight years. ... There will be those who will try to persuade you to give up our cause. ... Answer them by recommitting with energy and determination to our work. Remember our proud history of social justice, universal health care, public pensions and making sure no one is left behind. Let’s continue to move forward.

Let's move forward with even more nationalizations. Why stop at “social justice”, health-care and pensions? Let's nationalize everything! Make sure no one is left in the private sector.

To my fellow Quebecers: On May 2nd, you made an historic decision. 

You elected a bunch of non-French speaking University students.

To young Canadians: All my life I have worked to make things better. 

What a jackass.

Young people have been a great source of inspiration for me. I have met and talked with so many of you about your dreams, your frustrations, and your ideas for change. More and more, you are engaging in politics because you want to change things for the better. Many of you have placed your trust in our party. 

That's unfortunate. From what I can tell, a lot of young people have the same dreams, frustrations and yearning for change. It's the ideas that we differ on. Americans seem to be miles ahead of Canadians, they've got Ron Paul, they're interested in the Austrian School and even the dumbed down ones are fervent supporters of Alex Jones.

If all Canada has in store for the next generation is more NDP supporters and more socialist policies, we can say hello to bankruptcy and totalitarianism.

There are great challenges before you, from the overwhelming nature of climate change to the unfairness of an economy that excludes so many from our collective wealth, and the changes necessary to build a more inclusive and generous Canada.

What a fucking idiot. How are people idolizing this man? A State-funeral is a good way to send this guy off. The State is the only “legal plunder” institution in our society and it gets away with this by years of indoctrination and propaganda. Jack Layton was a true Statesman.

Climate change has nothing to do with factories. There ain't no such thing as collective wealth; an “unfairness of an economy” is an inescapable feature of capitalism, and any changes put forth to make Canada more “inclusive” and “generous” needs to come from private wealth.

There's nothing to like about the world Jack Layton left. It's a fascist regime that benefits a few at the expense of all. But Jack's solutions would have made things worse. You can't fight fascism with socialism – it's the same thing.

Only a free unhampered market economy will save Canadians from increasing totalitarianism.

I believe in you. Your energy, your vision, your passion for justice are exactly what this country needs today. You need to be at the heart of our economy, our political life, and our plans for the present and the future.

Well since we're being egotistical, Jack must have been writing about me and people like me. People who truly believe in freedom and peace and recognize that the State is problem.

And finally, to all Canadians: We can build a prosperous economy and a society that shares its benefits more fairly.

We can look after our seniors.

We can't. These seniors bankrupted us by going on a 20th century shopping spree. The store is closing, our credit cards are being rejected. Sorry Baby Boomers, you've been conned by your politicians.

We can offer better futures for our children.

Privatize everything... And start investigating governments, banks and lobbying groups for criminal activity.

We can do our part to save the world’s environment.

Enforce private property rights to their fullest extent. See Walter Block for more.

We can restore our good name in the world.

Take a page from the Founding Fathers of America. Isolation works best. Let's show the Americans how to conduct their foreign policy correctly.

We can do all of these things because we finally have a party system at the national level where there are real choices; where your vote matters; where working for change can actually bring about change....

If Jack Layton really believed this..... well now I just feel sorry for the guy.

My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.

Rest in Peace old Jacky. Hopefully your death will be the closing chapter on Canadian socialism. So let's allow the coming Depression and the collapse of the USA to be the opening chapter on Canadian anarchism.
