The Canadian government continued its acts of aggression in the Middle East today by suspending diplomatic relations with the nation of Iran. In addition to expelling Iranian diplomats from Canada, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird is quoted saying, "Canada’s position on the regime in Iran is well known. Canada views the government of Iran as the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today,"
Who is "Canada"? The neocon morons in the Conservative government? Or the real terrorists at the Council on Foreign Relations who are twisting the arms of Western governments. Regardless, this move highlights how the Harper government is purposefully suspending any peaceful solutions to the Iranian affair.
According to a 2006 Stats Canada report, over 121,000 ethnic Iranians live in the territorial monopoly of Canada, some estimate the number is now closer to 400,000. The move to close the embasy will effect these people the most. It will be harder to arrange visits back home, as well as invite friends and families over for visits.
Closing the embassy also readies the country for war. The Conservatives banned financial transactions with Iran in 2011 and cancelled visa services at its Tehran embassy this past July; this latest move is just another gradual step towards all-out war.
It's no secret that the US Empire would love to attack Iran, and considering that Harper and his gang of criminals supported the Iraq war, it should as no surprise when the Conservative government declares war on Iran.
Ludwig von Mises, who escaped Nazi Germany, put it best when he said,
Modern war is merciless, it does not spare pregnant women or infants; it is indiscriminate killing and destroying. It does not respect the rights of neutrals. Millions are killed, enslaved, or expelled from the dwelling places in which their ancestors lived for centuries. Nobody can foretell what will happen in the next chapter of this endless struggle. This has little to do with the atomic bomb. The root of the evil is not the construction of new, more dreadful weapons. It is the spirit of conquest. It is probable that scientists will discover some methods of defense against the atomic bomb. But this will not alter things, it will merely prolong for a short time the process of the complete destruction of civilization.
I think this applies to the lies about Iran. All the propaganda about nuclear weapons is just that: propaganda. Baird's concerns about, "Iran [being] among the world's worst violators of human rights," the fear that that Iran, "shelters and materially supports terrorist groups" all may be true. But a preemptive strike against the country based on these claims would be an oxymoron of epic proportions. An attack on Iran would murder millions of innocent individuals and line the pockets of the Military Industrial Complex. In other words, Canada would be violator of human rights and support the biggest terrorist group of all - the US Empire.
I wrote about this last November. My opinions haven't changed, so I'll just finish this post in the exact same way:
Even though Canadians may disagree with the (seemingly) inevitable war with Iran, the yuppies will still bark "support the troops." Disagree with the war and criticize it all you want, but God-forbid you don't support the troops.
Fuck the troops. You want my support? Turn your guns away from the Iranians and point them at Parliament.
