Your economics is sound and correct. Mises, Rothbard and Hayek et. al. have written abundantly and well on how economies really work and how government's attempts to direct and control economies are complete wastes of time, energy and money.
Trying to convince a local public of these facts...very difficult. My father and I believe instead, that it would be wiser and more practical first, to work on establishing true Direct Democracy, whereby citizens have the power to vote and initiate a vote, on issues on a regular basis, thereby eliminating the power groups that control the agenda today at all levels.
